The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission has disclosed that there would be restriction of human and vehicular movements between 8:00am and 2:00pm on the local government elections day.
The electoral commission which had slated the election for July 24,2021 ,said it has put in place necessary machineries to ensure an immediate release of all polling results at the Commission’s headquarters within few hours after the elections.
The Chairman of the Commission, Babatunde Osibodu, said this on Monday, during an interface with members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Special Duties and Parastatals led by Hon. Ademola Adeniran at the on-going budget performance assessment held at the Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta.
Osibodu said the electoral body had been engaging necessary stakeholders including political party agents, security formations and traditional rulers amongst others, through multi-lingual orientation programmes.
He said the Commission is ready to conduct a hitch-free election into the vacant seats of Chairmen and Councilors in the 20 Local Government Councils across the State .
Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Adeniran as well as Honourables Solomon Osho, Tinuke Bello and Musefiu Lamidi challenged the Commission to put in place measures towards ensuring the conduct of a very transparent and credible election
