Barely 24 hours after the Nigerian Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) announced 56 covid-19 cases in Akwa Ibom, the state’s highest since the outbreak, the state has again recorded another high daily case.
NCDC on Wednesday in it’s daily covid-19 report announced that Akwa Ibom had 45 cases and 2 deaths.
This is the state’s second highest daily record since the first five cases were recorded in April, 2020.
Daily cases in the country increased from yesterday’s 201 to 238 today taking the total confirmed cases to 170,122
The number of active cases in the state rose from110 to 153 under 24 hours and the death till has also increases to 20.
The only two casualties recorded yesterday across the country was from Akwa Ibom.
Total number of confirmed cases in the country as at NCDC’s Wednesday daily report stands at 170,122 with 164,741 discharged and 2,130 deaths.
While the recent covid-19 statistics in the state have been alarming lately, all efforts to get the government’s reaction proved abortive as at the time of filling this report.
