The Intra Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Ogun State Chapter has passed a vote of confidence on the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) on the just concluded Local Government Elections.
The Ogun State IPAC Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi who made the vote during a press briefing in Abeokuta, commended the chairman of OGSIEC ,Babatunde Osibodu for performing it’s responsibility creditably well .
Arabambi who frowned at the opposition views on the election , advised them to go to court and not distract the governor of the state from giving a good governance .
While congratulating the newly inaugurated 20 Local Government chairmen and 236 councillors, Arabambi noted that their victory should serve as a call to further strengthens the dividend of democracy at the grassroot.
“We at IPAC, a collection of all opposition parties, including the ruling party hereby pass a vote of confidence on the Babatunde Osibodu led OGSIEC and we also congratulate all the 20 Local Government chairmen and their Vices on their victory and subsequent Inauguration.
“IPAC is not an enemy of this administration, as our function is to put government on its toes, to do the needful to its citizens.
“But, when it comes to an election, there can only be one winner. So, it is not enough to condemn an administration because of an election. We at IPAC will not support such calls”, Arabambi stressed.
He therefore noted that whatever issues arising from the election is not particular to the state, adding that democracy is a growing process which all citizens must ensure its stability.
