Preparations are in top gear as the city of Abeokuta is set to play host to dignitaries from within and outside the entertainment industry to celebrate the chairman of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria, FIBAN, Ogun state chapter, Comrade Olufemi Samuel Omilani.
The event tagged “OLUFEMI OMILANI 10 Years Behind The Mic” and scheduled to hold on November 20 at a yet to be disclosed venue is to celebrate Omilani’s 10th anniversary in broadcasting.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that it would be a 3-in-1 event which includes book launch; lookalike pageant; and presentation of awards of appreciation.
According to Omilani, “the event is to celebrate my 10th anniversary in broadcasting. We are organising a lookalike pageant, where people like twins, triplets or relatives who look so much alike will compete and winners in each categories get huge sum of money and other fantastic gifts. I am also going to launch a book titled AYE AWON ERANKO, base on my research on animals in the last 10 years…”
“God has also used some people to accelerate my progress in the broadcasting industry and I want to use that opportunity to celebrate them with Award of Appreciation. People like Bunmi Ayelaagbe; Akinyemi Olatoye Alawiye; Kolawole Adejojo; the station that trained me, OGBC 90.5 and Kerlin Products Nigeria Limited for their continuous sponsorship”.
Omilani came into limelight in 2011 with a programme titled LAWUJO ERANKO ATI EYE on OGBC 90.5 fm and became the chairman of the state chapter of FIBAN at a time some said he wasn’t ripe for it.
