Former Speaker of House of Representatives ,Dimeji Bankole on Monday led the national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ,Mai Mala Buni, Jigawa state governor, Abubakar Badaru and Kebbi governor , Atiku Bagudu to the Iperu-Remo residence of Ogun state governor,Dapo Abiodun .
Buni and two other governors were also led to the Bankole’s father in Oluwo,Onikolobo,Abeokuta .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the team had been going round to meet with some leaders in the South West region ahead of the 2023 general election .
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the leaders of the APC were reported to have embarked on the journey to the South West with a view to recommending the most acceptable candidate for the presidential ticket of the party in the coming election .
The team, after leaving Abiodun’s place to pay a condolence visit to him over his father’s death ,proceeded to Chief Alani Bankole’s house .
The three governors including the APC national Chairman had visited the Ibadan home of former Oyo Governor Rashidi Ladoja.
Twenty-four hours after ,the team held a closed-door meeting with the Octogenarian immediately they arrived his compound at 2:19pm on Monday .
The meeting, which lasted for 45 minutes, started around 2:20pm and ended 3:05pm.
Though details of the meeting were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that the discussion at the meeting was not unconnected with the election .
A source however told PLATFORM TIMES that the meeting with Chief Bankole was on the state of things in the country .
The source further said that the meeting discussed the issues of insecurity and other things .
