The Ekiti state coordinator of pan Yoruba group , Afenifere , Prince Adebuji Alonke complained that two monarchs have been kidnapped in Oye Local Government In Area of Ekiti state.
Alonke revealed that the Traditional Rulers were released after the Abductors took millions of naira as ransom.
He made this known in an exclusive interview with PLATFORM TIMES in Ijebu-Ode .
The Chieftain of Ekiti chapter of Afenifere said indigenes of the communities had to gather money to pay the ransom to secure release of the monarchs whose family members couldn’t afford .
According to him “two of our Obas have been kidnapped in Ekiti state . We had to gather money to pay ransom for the rescue of the traditional rulers .
“we rescue them with millions of naira. One traditional ruler from Ekiti and the other one from my local government, Oye,Ekiti local government .
“We rescue the Obas while the people rallied round and brought out money to pay as ransom to the kidnappers.
“The situation in the country is embarrassing, the constitution need to be review without a new constitution this country cannot move forward.
“The people in the north they did not want the constitution to be review because it favours them.
“But we people in the south, we are slave to our own land, why do we have governors who cannot control the security officer.”
He lamented that, a governor cannot control his own state commissioner of police until he go to Abuja to take permission.
“We should have a new constitution of the people not constitution of the Army, we do not want constitution of army. let the constitution to be review and favour the people.
“If we practice true federalism this country will go forward.
