Some residents in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have asked the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to fix 19 state roads in the area and leave the Federal Government roads .
The Residents of Oju-Ore, Ota, Sango, Ijoko and others stormed the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Monday and staged a protest over bad roads in the area.
The protest which caused a lot of traffic gridlock leaving the commuters and motorists stranded for hours .
While pointing out to the 19 state roads in Ota, the residents demanded from Gov. Abiodun to fix the roads such as Itele road, Bible College road, Adalemo-Plaza road, Veepee-Animashun/Fowobi road, and Atan-Ado road, Lusada – Ketu road.
Others are Onihale Agoro-Ijoko road, Ojuore-Ilogbo road, Iju- Ilogbo road, Owode-Ilogbo road, Anglican road, Obasanjo-Lafenwa-Itele road, Iyana Iyesi-Ijagba road, Arigbabu-Adalemo road, Owode-Ijomo-Ado-Odo road, Arigbabu/Chicken Joe-Rhema Church road, Industrial Estate road, Agbara Ilase road and Owode-Bandu road, which they said have turned to canal.
Speaking with one of the protesters, Sola Afariogun said a lot of lives have been lost on the road .
Afariogun said “We have only three Federal roads in Ota. Leave those ones and fix the State roads.We have 19 roads that are state roads .”
