President Muhammadu Buhari has lamented the death of his former Chief Security Officer, CSO, Ahmadu Gaada.
Gaada was Buhari’s Chief Security Officer during his time as Nigeria’s military head of state in the 1980s.
Buhari’s condolence message to the deceased family was signed and made available to reporters by Garba Shehu, his senior special assistant on media and publicity.
The statement quoted Buhari as saying that he was saddened to hear death Gaada, who he described as a very diligent and agile security officer.
Buhari added that Gaada served him with excellence and astuteness, adding his ex-CSO worked in the national interest rather than self-interest.
“He will be remembered as an exemplary security officer and most of all, a patriotic citizen who placed the nation above self,” Buhari said.
“Ahmadu’s death is a personal and irreplaceable loss to me. May Allah rest his soul in peace and give enough strength to the bereaved family members.”
