The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has clarified that several debit alerts received by their customers in recent time are from the earlier transactions carried out via the Automated Teller Machines or Point of Sale (POS).
The bank noted that it is not new debits or a sign that customer’s account has been compromised.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the bank made the clarification following the trend on social media of customers’ complaint of unwelcome debit alerts.
The bank apologetically said: “Kindly note that these are delayed notifications for ‘transactions that they have carried out within the past week.
“No additional funds have been debited from their account nor have their accounts been compromised,”in a reply to enquiries.
