Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ogun state , have arrested two suspects for allegedly killing a farmer, Rasaki Aro
on his farmer for challenging them after catching them attempting to steal his cocoa.
The suspects; Taiwo Fatai, 21 and Muyideen Adeosun were arrested for killing the farmer on his farm at Oke-Sopin area, Ijebu-Igbo in the Ijebu-North local government area of the state .
The Field Commander of Ametokun in the state, David Akinremi disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday .
The statement reads in part: “The assailant went to the deceased farm to steal from his cocoa plantation but unknown to them that the deceased was on the farm.
“However, when they were challenged by the deceased, the suspects pounced on him inflicting several cut injuries on him which led to his death at the spot.
“Following up with the initial address, the second suspect, one Muyideen Adeosun ‘who was initially at large has been arrested by our operatives and they have confessed to the commission of the heinous crime.”
Akinremi, however, said the suspects were in the Police custody for further investigation.
He added “both suspects have been handed over to the Police for further investigation”.
