The Ogun State commander for So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo has appealed to residents of the state to assist security agencies in fishing out criminals hiding amidst the people.
The So-Safe commander urged the residents to provide information that will help the security in combating crimes across the state.
Ganzallo said this on Thursday shortly after getting an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Philosophy in Law Enforcement and Criminology from the British American University.
The security expert who lamented the high rate of insecurity however insisted that the people need to be actively involved in the fight against crimes.
The So-Safe commander also disclosed that the state security outfit is partnering with other security agencies in ensuring that lives and properties are saved in the country.
He noted, “Government is trying all their efforts, but we as citizens too, we must put in everything to make sure that we are secure. The best form of security is to feel insecure at all times and put in all effort to make sure we are safe.
“It is important that the people give information; these criminals that we are talking about do not live in the abstract, they are living amongst us. So, whatever you observed that can negate our security in society, we must put it to the front burner and discuss with the law enforcement agents.
“The rise in criminal activities is not peculiar to our state alone; you can see that it is a general thing that is happening all over the country.
“If you look at it very well that is even with pockets of crime we are still having in Ogun state, Ogun state still happened to be the safest state in Nigeria today.
“We are working with other Security agencies. We still have our men in the bush trying to rescue the four survey assistance”
Speaking on the honorary degree, Ganzallo described it as efforts of hard work.
He further said, “I think coming this far is a bit of hard work; what one has been doing for years and people outside there looking at what you are doing, your contributions to the society and my field which happened to be security.
“Whatever you are doing, there are people taking notice of what you are doing. The British America University took notice of what I have been doing and my achievements so far.
“This will definitely propel me to actually do more, I must tell you that I know that I have been recognized for what I have been doing, then definitely I will put extra efforts into it, and by the grace of God, I think the people will see the best of me.”
