The Agura of Gbagura , Oba Saburi Babajide Bakre has appealed to Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun to cushion the effects on the victims of the fire incident that occurred on Sunday at Lafenwa market where over N200 million worth of goods were destroyed.
The monarch made the appeal during his visit to the scene of the incident in Abeokuta on Wednesday .
The Agura described the incident as unfortunate, urged the state governor to compensate the affected traders at the Lafenwa infernos.
He said only almighty God could adequately comfort and compensate them, but adding that any token support from the government will invariably go a long in their lives.
He however called on the people to always ensure safety first at anytime so as to prevent avoidable accident that may eventually lead to huge destruction.
Oba Bakre expressed concern over the disturbing increase in the activities of the miscreants among other criminal elements within his domain ,particularly at the Lafenwa under Bridge which he said was being used as their den now posing serious threat to several communities in the area.
He called for urgent intervention of the state government and proactive measures from all the concerned security agencies to rise to the occasion and end all sorts of criminalities being perpetrated in the axis.
Agura who commiserates with the family of those who lost their loved ones and valuables in the incident, he prayed for God’s grace to abide with them so as to bear the irreparable loss.
