A Popular Fuji Musician and Mayegun of Yoruba land, Wasiu Ayinde has disclosed why and how he got the nickname Talaszo.
Ayinde ,K1 De Ultimate was known at the beginning of his Fuji career as Talazo when he released his album called ‘Talazo 84’.
According to him, the name was given to him by his people in Agarawu area now when he was small.
Ayinde made this known at his TIME OUT with Broadcasters organized by the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN)
He explained that his people in the area gave him the name because anytime anyone around him was purging, he usuall recommended to them to drink ‘Talazo’ medicine ,saying, that was how the name got stuck to him
The Fuji Music maestro also nicknamed K1 De Ultimate said when he eventually got into music fully, he decided to take the advantage of the name so as to add value to what he later found as his journey of success in life.
His words ” Talazo is my alias in Agarawu, as a young boy, my mum used it for me, so, when people purge I recommended it to them, so, people started calling me Talaso…..Then, I took advantage of that name to add value to what I later found as my journey of success of life”.
The Fuji Musician while narrating his rise in Fuji Music said “I started Ajiwere Ajisakin at six .l look back at my background,my father was a disciplinarian, my mother was a working woman and raised good children.
“My father, late Adisa Adesanya known as Anifowose family from ijebu-Ode Ogun state, a member of Ansarudeen society of Nigeria .
He was a man who dedicated all his life to serving Almighty Allah.
“He took good care of his family that is the family I came from but, unfortunately, later in life I shared in the belief also that whatever is in the blood that brought you to life is sincerely what you are.”
Speaking on how he got into music career, he said ” my mother was a princess of a reigning king then, and she was talented in music, she was a singer as at that time but, her father was not in support of her singing career so, her father married her out to my father, with the aim of stopping her from singing or if her husband is in support of her music then she could continue in her husband’s house.
“When my mother got to Lagos the kind of her music was not listened to in Lagos, so, she found it difficult to get followers. So, when my mother gave birth to me and I took after her musical career and that was what later became of me today.
“I am thankful to God for the impact she gave to me , Ajiwere Ajisafe in Agarawu in Lagos island.
“We have different categories then, it was only Ajiwere Ajesafe that was so popular but, there were many singers in that journey of music. I started as a little Fuji hammer from Agarawu
“They entered me for competition and I won’t laurels for three years and at the age ten , I could stand with intermediate and I moved to Fuji … Agarawu is still very much there.
“They gave me the leadership to represent Agarawu, later I opted out and turned pro at age 15 and since then I chose music as a way of life and living”.
