Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps also known as So-Safe Corps have rescued unhurt three members of a Celestial Church, who were kidnapped on Friday, 3rd December, 2021.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the victims ( one male and two females) were kidnapped while on their way to a vigil in the church.

The church is situated at Iwokun around ‘railway bridge’ in Obada-Oko, Ewekoro local government area of the State.

The Corps Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Moruf Yusuf in a Statement said the operatives rescued the male victim unhurt on Sunday .

According to Yusuf while interrogating the rescued victims, it was revealed that the same church had previously been attacked June this year which resulted in the kidnap of a worshipper.

As at the time of filing this report, PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the kidnappers were forced to release the remaining victims ( two females) two days after (Tuesday).

Yusuf however warned the people of the state to shun vigil as well as worshipping in the forest as contained in a recent release by the Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta .

Meanwhile operatives of the So-Safe Corps have arrested a 20-year old man, Adesanya Rasheed for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s nine-year old daughter ( name with held).

The Corps Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Moruf Yusuf said the suspect was arrested following a compliant by the victims parent at the State Headquarter of the Corps in Abeokuta, the State capital.

Yusuf said that the victims parent said the suspect who is their co tenant carried out the act on Monday 6th December, 2021.

He further revealed that the parent found out about the act when they saw blood flowing profusely from their daughter’s genital.

The Corps spokesman said upon receipt of the complaint the corps Commandant, Soji Ganzallo ordered the arrest of the suspect.

According to Gonzallo it will serve as a deterrent to others who may have the intent to commit such an act and those who are specialist in doing such for ritual purposes.

“The alleged suspect has been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ibara Divisional Police Headquarter.

He added that the victim and the parent have been handed over to the police to provide Police the necessary information needed to establish the case for further investigation and likely prosecution.

Don’t Stunt your journalism growth by repoting sports alone, Ogun Information Commissioner tells sports writers

Odusile made this known while declaring open the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter week open in Abeokuta, the State capital.

His words, ” I want to say this because of the distinctive nature of sport reporting most of our members have had their growth in journalism stunted based on the fact that they chose to be sport reporters. It shouldn’t be like that.

“Sport reporting should not stop you from excelling in journalism.

“Let us not stunt our growth by restricting ourselves to sport reporting alone, sport writing is just another arm of journalism.

“I want to enjoin our members that apart from venturing into other forms of journalism even within SWAN you should develop themselves
