The Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Saudulaih Bamigbola has endorsed a contribution plan for Muslims so that they will be able to save money and get special package of food items during Ramadan period.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the contribution programme was introduced by ABL Merchandise Nigeria Ltd, a conglomerate of IAS Homes and Properties.
The founder of ABL Merchandise Nig Ltd, Ayobami Adelani during a visit to the Chief Imam explained that the contribution will enable Muslims plan ahead for Ramadan.
Adelani, fondly called Obapedepede explained that with a daily contribution of N200, N350, N650, N950, and N1, 350, Muslims will be able to get special food package which include Rice, Semo, Tin Milk and Milo, Crates of Eggs, among others during Ramadan period.
The ABL boss further explained that the contribution which will start on January will elapse after 90 days.
He noted that the company is doing this to make fasting easy and convenient for Muslims.
He added, “I am a Christian, but many of my friends are Muslim. We have one company called ABL merchandise Nigeria Ltd
“We discovered that fasting is key pillars in Islam; we thought about how people can fast conveniently.
“We plan to give the people the opportunity to prepare for Ramadan. They will contribute for 90 days, and get a special package of food items during Ramadan.
“We thought of how we can let Muslim know what we are doing; we decided to visit you and get advise from you.”
In his remarks, the Chief Iman of Egba described the initiative as “great concept” that will benefit the Muslim community.
Sheikh Bamigbola while endorsing the ABL’s contribution programme noted that it is a means to prepare ahead for Ramadan.
He stressed that he is not against any concept that will bring convenience to the people so far it is not against the Quran and preaching of Prophet Muhammad.
He noted, “Whatever the Quran is not against, personally I am not always against it.
“There is nothing wrong in doing trade, over excessiveness is what the Quran is against.”
