A fast rising radio broadcaster with Splash 105.5FM, Blessing Agbeetan has given back to the less-privilege by donating clothes, foodstuffs, toiletries, biscuits and drinks to the Tabitha Orphanage Home in Ibadan.

Agbeetan who is also a child and women’s rights advocate, said she gave out the food stuffs and other items, as a way to make the children at the orphanage home happy during the festive season.

The fast rising broadcaster told PLATFORM TIMES that she is always at the forefront of embarking on activities that will bring social impact to the people.

She stressed that the children at the orphanage homes need love, support and care from the people.

In her words, “Talking about what birthed the outreach I did today, I think the whole idea is to make the children happy.

“You know we are in the Christmas season and the season comes with merriment, celebration and all of that. So I just wanted to make this Christmas season a worthwhile one for the children and I am glad I did.

“There was this particular day I woke up, looked into my wardrobe and I saw how much clothes I had but do not wear.

“So, I asked myself, ‘Blessing, why do you have all these clothes you don’t wear and there are people who are actually in need of the clothes. At that point, I made up my mind that I was going to give out the clothes. I decided not to only give clothes to the children, so I added foodstuffs, toiletries, biscuits and drinks just to make them happy.

“So, the whole idea is just to make children happy and seeing the excitement on their faces, I can tell you that there is nothing as fulfilling as that.”

Agbeetan further said, “I will also like to appeal to everyone in as much as you have, please ensure to always reach out to this amazing children.

“Government cannot do it alone; these people cannot also do it alone. So, they need our love, backup and support and we can do this by giving back to our society. You know they say little drop of water makes an ocean.

“So, the donations here and there are what all of these homes need, to keep on doing whatever it is they are doing.”

In her response, the Administrator of Tabita Home, Victoria Omahe commended Agbeetan for remembering the children at the Home, during this festive season.

Omahe explained that Tabita Home gives children sustainable entrepreneurship which goes beyond food, clothing and shelter support.

She added that Tabita Home is being sustained by funds and donations from people like families, private institutions, churches and others.

“We work in collaboration with the government through the ministry of Women affairs, child welfare and social inclusion and the department of child welfare specifically.

“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate Miss Blessing for visiting Tabita Home especially at this time.

“At this moment, the Christmas time, we started like a drive, and the drive is to cater for the children in 2022. We call it the Starlight drive and it is for a new hope for the children and is basically on back-to-school.

“So, with all you have brought for us, it is quite encouraging and we know that these are things that give us motivation to keep on giving back to the society and making the best out of these children’s life”, she stated.
