A 43-year- old man, Musa Sani has been arraigned before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged N1.3m fraud.
Sani, a resident of Zaria, Kaduna State, is facing one- count charge of criminal breach of trust.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, told the court that Sani commited the offence around Badarawa in Kaduna, sometime around August 2020.
Leo said the victim, Garba Mohammed, entrusted the sum of N1.3 million to the defendant to buy a Peugeot 307 for him.
He said the defendant converted the money to his personal use and all efforts by the complainant to get a refund of his money from the defendant proved abortive.
He added that the offence contravened Section 296 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant N200,000 bail with a reliable surety who must have landed property with Certificate of Occupancy.
The Magistrate adjourned the matter until January. 14, 2022
