Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted 15 persons in Kulho village of Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger state .
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the Niger Police Command has confirmed the incident .
Police spokesman in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, made the disclosure in a statement in Minna on Sunday.
Abiodun said on 14 January at about 1400 hours, suspected bandits attacked Kulho village, a remote community near Ibbi in Mashegu LGA.
He said the bandits abducted about fifteen people.
Abiodun also explained that on the same day at about 1300 hours, suspected bandits and terrorists entered Mashegu village through Jigawa area of Mashegu and rustled a yet to be ascertained number of cows.
He added that the bandits also burgled a provision shop at Kawo village.
However, a team of Police/vigilante has been drafted to the area for search and rescue of the abducted victims.
” We solicited the support of local residents to volunteer reliable information that could aid in apprehending the miscreants once and for all”,The spokesman said.
