Popular musician, Don Jazzy has donated N1.5 million to a Tech hub to facilitate the learning of coding by 100 Nigerian youths.
The hip hop star donated the fund following the appeal by a Tech hub, Code Hub Africa urging the Mavin records boss to contribute to the sponsorship programme.
The Tech Hub Founder, Chizim Echehieuka wrote: ”Dear @DONJAZZY Please would you like to sponsor 100 Nigerian youths to learn how to code at our online mentorship program (Code Hub Africa Tech). It’s 15k per person. Thank you.
“Please tag Rihanna’s boyfriend if you want to be part of this sponsorship.”
In his reply to the appeal, the musician after making payment of N15, 000 each for 100 youths said: “Ok boss. Just sent N1.5million to your Vbank account.”
He further requested only serious minded individuals should be selected for the scholarship while he shared proof of payment.
“Please pick serious students. Here is the N1.5m.”
Chizom, upon receiving the funds, expressed gratitude to the kind musician, adding that such kindness is remarkable.
”Baba Don Jazzy, God bless you. The mentees go make Nigeria proud. History will not forget you baba,” he wrote.
