Ogun State Government on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with a private information technology firm with the aim of increasing revenue from waste management.
The government announced that payment for waste product from industries and commercial outlets would be done through e-payment, e-receipt system.
Ola Oresanya, the special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Environment and Chief Executive Officer, OGWAMA, made this known at a press briefing in Abeokuta.
Oresanya stated that digitalization process of waste management revenue would help the agency brings better service delivery to industries and commercial sub-sector in the state.
He said,”We are here today to flag off a well thought-out partnership with private IT Firm AOA Windstream Limited to deploy technology via electronic billing system as a catalyst to drive revenue generation from from waste management in the State.
“This Collaboration will bring to bear the development of vibrant, functional, interactive,suit for purpose and holistic electronic solution platform that possess capacity to address all issues relating to the whole gamut of billing system from the beginning to the end.
“The features of the election billing system amongst other are ; automate industrial/commercial waste management operations and payment system such as e-billing, e-payment, e-receipt etc.On boarding of new and existing clients and Electronic database management of industries and commercial outlets to achieve better waste management”.
The Governor’s aide however urged residents of the state to ensure clean and liveable environment.
