The Chinese company, 3CL brand management situated around Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta has dragged Samuel to court for losing about N1.3 million in his personal investment in Forex trade.

The accused narrated that he invested the money in Forex trade before the website crashed, leading to the loss of the company’s money kept with him.

Samuel said the attempt to resolve the matter with the company failed since it insisted that the matter be brought to the court.

The accused said, “I used the money for Forex investment hoping that before the money would be asked for, I would have remitted it. But unfortunately, the investment crashed.

“After the crash, I approached the company with my family hoping the fund can be paid back.

“At first, we paid N 400,000 to the company hoping that the remaining would be paid by instalment but the company refused and that the court should settle it.”

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that he was later arrested on the 9th of June, 2021 and taken to Ibara police station before arraigned to court on March 2, 2022.

The prosecuting counsel, ASP Olakunle Shonibare argued that the accused is guilty of the offence as the fund was kept in his possession.

Delivering judgment, the chief magistrate, O.M Somefun adjourned the case to April 15th, 2022.
