The landlord of a property located at No,14,Mosalasi Street, Oke Aregba Abeokuta on Tuesday has dragged his tenant identified as Jimoh Taiwo to the Grade I customary court sitting at Ake, Abeokuta the capital of Ogun State over his refusal to vacate his flat after owing him three years house rent and also not taking proper care of the flat
The plaintiff identified as Alhaji Gbolohan Ojo stated that the defendant who owed him three years house rent has refused to vacate his flat even after being served a quit notice by the court on two occasions
He also accused the defendant of always drinking alcohol and not living a good life
However, the defendant who agreed that he was owing his landlord three years explained that it was due to his wife and daughter who felt sick which caused his failure to pay the rent of N1,500 per month
He added that he could not vacate the house now because he had nowhere to go, pleading that he should still be given the grace to stay there to six months more .
The plaintiff however said he is ready to let go of the money he owed him and insisted that the tenant with his family should vacate his house
The president, however gave the tenant the grace to stay in the house till the month of May and at the end of May they should vacate the house
