A female trader whose name could not be ascertained on Wednesday, sustained injury after a former media Aide of Ogun state governor on Communication, Modele Sarafa-Yusuf declared for governorship seat.
The victim was hit as a vehicle rammed on her leg as she was struggling for N1,000 note being shared as honorarium for participating in the declaration .
The accident almost spoilt the declaration which had hitherto gone well as traders at the Osoba Adire Kampala International Market, Asero, Abeokuta trooped out to join the declaration .
The former Special Adviser to Ogun state governor on Communication had declared to contest for the state Governorship seat in the 2023 election.
But, the declaration almost went sour as one of the traders who was struggling to grab two N500 notes from the disburse woman, commissioned by Sarafa-Yusuf was knocked by the car which was reversing .
A sudden scream of the victim was heard as the vehicle rammed on the victim’s leg ,the development caused a panic and forced the governorship aspirant to abandon the interview session and started calming down the victim who was limping .
PLATFORM TIMES reporter who was around when the accident occured, observed that the traders were desperate to get the two notes of N500 earmarked for one person .
The traders were also given a big note book with the inscription of the aspirant whose membership of the All Progressives Congress could not be ascertained .
It was observed that contrary to the norm, no party leader of either of the two factions was present at the declaration .
