An Ogun state Magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta on Thursday, arraigned a suspected cultist, Adeniji Toheeb terrorising the residents of Iberekodo area of Abeokuta.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that on the 9th of April, 2020 the suspect with his gang, who are now on the run, allegedly invaded and maimed , with cutlasses and axes, the resident of one Ogunyemi Abdulsamad in the area.
PLATFORM TIMES also gathered that the suspects are members of the Aiye Confraternity. The suspects also allegedly commit offences such as robbery and destruction of landed property.
The suspect, Adeniji was later arrested by the Ogun police force, PLATFORM TIMES learnt.
The defence counsel, Mariam Ajekunle appealed to the court to grant the bail of her client,describing the offence as bailable .
Delivering judgment, the chief magistrate, I.O Abudu granted the bail of the accused at N300,000 with two sureties.
The chief magistrate, however, adjourned the case till 31st of March, 2022 for further trial.
