A housewife and mother of four, Mrs Adeoso on Thursday sought the dissolution of her 19-year-old marriage to Mr Taiwo Adeoso over an alleged maltreatment.
The wife who dragged her husband before the Grade 1 customary court sitting at Ake, Abeokuta in Ogun state, accused Adeoso of being troublesome and always beating her.
The plaintiff who was in tears insisted that she wants a divorce because she has not enjoyed the marriage.
She lamented that her husband does not give her peace of mind, and is not ready to change.
She said “There was a time I was pregnant of our second child, he beat me and due to the beating I now have issues with my left eye.
“He did not stop beating me until I got pregnant of our third child, I had no option than to arrest him.”
She further said, “I’ve reported him to my parents countless times, they’ve tried settling our disputes but now they are not interested in it.”
The husband who broke into tears at the court refused to agree to the dissolution of their marriage.
Adeoso begged the court to give him a second chance, promising not to beat his wife again.
The presidents, O.O Adeneye and G.A Saliau pleaded with the wife to stay married to her husband and also adjourned the case till 17th of March, 2022.
