A Chief Magistrate at an Ogun State Court,I.O Abudu sitting at Isabo area of Abeokuta on Friday has discharged one Tajudeen Alatise for terrorising Lafenwa traders.
PLATFORMTIMES gathered that Alatise was tried for allegedly breaking into a tailor shop at Lafenwa on December,2021 through the ceiling and stole four sewing machine, one weaving machine and electric bulb.
PLATFORMTIMES also gathered that he was also tried for terrorising and extorting hausa traders in Lafenwa market.
The suspect however, told the court that he is not guilty of the allegations against him.
In her judgement,the court said there is no concrete evidence to show that he broke into the shop and stole the aforementioned equipments.
The Chief Magistrate said, the owner of the burgled shop said she only suspected Alatise due to his illicit behaviour in the community and admitted that Alatise is known for terrorising and extorting hausa traders at Lafenwa.
However, she discharged the suspect on the ground that,there is no concrete evidence showing that he burgled the tailor shop,and warned Alatise against being involved in any form of hooliganism or extortion again.
