An angry mob comprises the youths on Sunday killed and burnt the corpses of two suspected kidnappers in Anpam community of Mangu Local Area of Plateau State.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that no fewer than 13 houses belonging to herders in the area were also set ablaze by the angry youth after killing the suspected kidnapers.
It was further gathered that the burning of the houses has sparked tension in the area.
The spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel confirmed the incident.
Gabriel said “the incident happened and the suspected kidnappers were killed. Some houses were also burnt. We are aware of the incident that happened in Mangu.
“The commissioner of police has since deployed officers to restore law and order in the area. And currently, there is a stakeholder meeting in Mangu to ascertain the cause of the burning of the houses and to make sure there is no further attack, and to find the way forward.”
