Two suspected armed robbers on Tuesday were arraigned before an Ogun State High Court siting in Kobape, Abeokuta for allegedly robbing one Alhaji Semiu Ajala of a sum of 1.3 million naira.
The suspects, Chineye Nwaibe and Alexander Nwadike were arrested on September 8th, 2016 at Itoku area of Abeokuta.
The duo were arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Rotimi-Balogun on a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
The state prosecuting counsel, O.O Jibodu told the court that the defendants conspired to commit the armed robbery offence.
Jibodu said the duo were arrested after robbing the complainant of N1.3m.
She added that the offences contravened the section 6(b) and 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act, Cap.R.11, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
However the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.
Consequently, The Justice, Ayokunle Rotimi-Balogun, however, adjourned the case till 6th of April, 2022 for further trial.
