Residents of Araromi Orita community, in Ado-Odo, Ota Local Government of Ogun State, have sent a “Save Our Soul (SOS)” message to the state governor ,Dapo Abiodun over the invasion of the village by hoodlums.
The Baale of the community,Chief Olusegun Odeyemi, made the appeal
He said some hoodlums invaded the village and kidnapped some of the residents.
Odeyemi said that the gang stormed the village at 2. am on Thursday, beat up some of the villagers, including an 80-year-old woman.
They also injured several other villagers.
“Twelve members of our community were taken away by the hoodlums who also burgled six houses.
“An 80-year old woman was beaten to stupor and some of her belongings were stolen by the gang,” the community head said.
The octogenarian, Mrs Comfort Fagboun, said that the hoodlums stormed her home, broke the entrance door, beat her up and carted away money and some other items in her room.
Fagboun appealed to the state government to help the community fish out the culprits and bring them to book.
Mrs Rukayat Tajudeen, also a resident, said that her husband was beaten and kidnapped by the hoodlums.
According to her, till now she does not know the whereabouts of her husband.
“We urge the government to intervene into our situation and rescue the community members from the hands of the hoodlums.
Chief Rasheed Olaleye, the Alakoso of Araromi Orita Community, also appealed to the government to intervene and stop the incessant invasion of the village by hoodlums.
“We want quick intervention of the government, our people are being brutalised and kidnapped, we want a thorough investigation by the police and the state government
