A strong indication has emerged that the ex-Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has joined the race for the post of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming national convention of the party.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Omisore had released a statement titled ‘New era, as Senator Iyiola Omisore submits his nomination form for the national secretary of All Progressives Congress,’ personally signed by the former deputy governor and obtained in Osogbo.
The statement read that the ex-federal parliamentarian would ensure transparent and inclusive party administration.
While confirming the development, Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Taiwo Akeju, said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and other stakeholders of the ruling party in Osun State are in support of Omisore’s ambition.
Akeju said the two-term Senator representing Osun East in the Senate had picked a form to contest for the post.
He said, “Governor Oyetola is supporting him (Omisore) and other party stakeholders are also in support of this project. He has picked the form.”
