The Ogun state police command has paraded 15 suspected criminals who had been terrorising the state for various crimes, such as armed robbery, murder, kidnapping among others.
The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole paraded the suspects on Monday, at the State police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
He said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state for murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and stealing.
The Commissioner disclosed that his men arrested 15 suspects in March with various exhibits such as one locally made single barrel gun; a Toyota Corolla with registration number GGE733FL; one Dane gun and one locally made pistol.
He said two murder suspects, Chidi Samuel and Paul Zakari, who were co-founders of the Christian Fellowship group, life builders network were arrested for allegedly killing a church member Favour Okumazor in Oyan village in Imala, Abeokuta-North area of the state .
Bankoke said, “the suspects took some youths numbering seven away from their parents to an isolated area in Oyan village via Imala for what they called Nibble study and fellowship.
“While in the isolated area, one of the youths whose parents have reported missing at Ibafo police station feel sick and died.
“The suspects, who refused to let the girl go when she fell sick secretly buried her in a shallow grave within the village.”
The Commissioner said the suspects were arrested following a report by one of the parents who was alerted by one of the victims after he escaped .
The police boss, however, advised parents to be wearied of who they allow their children to be associated with.
He added that parents should interrogate and further investigate the pedigry of the antecedents of the men of God they release their children to.
Also paraded were murder suspects, Ismail Hammed and Osoba Yakubu, who were arrested for the murder of one Yusuf Buhari.
Bankole stated that the victim was found dead in an uncompleted building at Araromi village in Ilogbo town and his motorcycle had been taken away.
Also paraded were two notorious Kidnappers, Sulaimon Mohammed,40, and Jato Bello, 40 for numerous kidnapping within Abeokuta metropolis.
The police boss stated that the suspects were responsible for the abduction of one Ajibola Salimot on the 17th of February, 2022 at her house in Ayetoro.
He added that they were also responsible for the abduction of Victoria Oladoyin at Aboba area Sodeke Titun on the 26th of February, 2022 and two siblings, Esther Kehinde and David Kehinde were also kidnapped by them.
Others paraded were a group of armed robbery suspects; Moruf Abiodun,Fisayo Aliu, Usman Adeyemi; Daud Lekan and Afeez Adesina for snatching a Toyota Corolla car in Iperu and Saheed Ogundahun, who was arrested for killing with a Dane gun and burying him on his farm at Ewekoro.
However, the police boss enjoined the good people of the State to partner with the Command to carry out the onerous task by giving necessary information that would help in chasing out the criminal within the State.
Bankole said, “to this end, I hereby enjoined the good of the Gateway state to partner with the Command to carry out this onerous task; by giving us necessary information that will assist us chasing out the criminal within us.”
