The Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi said the Nigeria’s first deep seaport will undergo a test run and receive commercial vessels by September,.
Amaechi added that it was also expected to become operational before January 2023.
He disclosed this while taking president Muhammadu Buhari round the project after commissioning the N42.5 billion Dangote fertilizer plant in the axis.
The minister added that additional 1,000 hectares of land is still required for the project, explaining that it would lead to the relocation of about 5,000 residents in the axis.
However, Buhari had directed that the seaport be connected to the railway network
