The 17-year-old marriage between one Johnson Adeniregun and Deborah Adeniregun conducted on December 10, 2005 has been dissolved by the state high court sitting in Kobape, Ogun state .
The marriage was dissolved on the grounds of adultery committed by the wife, Deborah with their landlord.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the plaintiff , Johnson who works in Lagos state and comes to Abeokuta to his wife and three children of the marriage on weekend basis had on different occasions caught his wife and the landlord in their matrimonial room.
It was gathered that when challenged about the affairs, the wife had repeatedly denied it saying the landlord is her good friend and had helped her a lot when the husband wasn’t available.
However, justice, Rotimi Balogun noted that the wife was guilty of the accusation and dissolved the marriage.
She stated that the petitioner shall have unrestricted access to the children of the marriage, adding that he shall be responsible for the education and shall pay the sum of fifty thousand naira monthly for the maintainance of the three children.
She said, “the marriage celebrated between the petitioner and the defendant at Obafemi Owode Marriage Registry, Ogun state on 10 December, 2005 having broken down irretrievably Is hereby dissolved.
“Decree Nisi is hereby ordered to be made absolute after three months.
“The respondent is hereby granted custody of the three children of the marriage.
“The petitioner shall have unrestricted access to the children of the marriage particularly during long holidays as convenient to the parties and the children.
“The petitioner shall be responsible for the education of the three children and shall pay the sum of N50,000 monthly as his contribution towards the maintaince of the three children.”
