The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a suspected cultist terrorzing Abeokuta and Ifo environs.
The suspected cultist, Rotimi Adebiyi popularly called ‘Paracetamol’ was arrested when the SWAT operatives led by Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Olanrewaju Kalejaye stormed his hideout in Ifo area of Ogun State on Saturday.
The suspect, said to be a leader of Eiye cult group, was alleged to always storm Abeokuta metropolis to strike and afterwards, sneaks into his hideout in Ifo.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed this in a statement issued and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
Oyeyemi said the suspect had been on the wanted list of police over alleged roles in several cult clashes leading to the death of some members of a rival cult group in the State.
He listed one local pistol, one live cartridge, assorted criminal charms, weed suspected to be Indian hemp and a cutlass as items recovered from him.
