A legal expert and real estate mogul, Barrister Taiwo Shote (a.k.a Pepe) has clinched the People’s Democratic Party ticket in a rescheduled primary election into the House of Representatives.
Barr. Shote is aspiring for the House of Representatives from Ijebu-Ode/Ijebu North East and Odogbolu Federal Constituency (otherwise known as Ijebu Central Federal Constituency) under the PDP.
The election was held Monday night at the Ijebu-Ode Club, Ijebu Ode.
PLATFORM TIMES recall that Shote had won the primary election which was held on the 22nd of May, 2022, but was eventually voided by the National Working Committee (NWC) on the ground of erroneous exclusion of an aspirant , Mr. Wale Ogunbanjo.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that in a re-run election on Monday, Shote defeated Ogunbanjo by polling 84 votes out of the 108. His co-contestant, Adebanjo , polled 24 votes.
The returning officer, Dr. Emeka Nwachukwu, while declaring Shote as the winner of the election, described the process as peaceful and transparent.
PLATFORM TIMES further reports that Shote expressed his excitement, praised God and thanked his people.
“I am overwhelmed by the support of my constituents, the people, the ward and local government chairmen, the delegates of our great party, the PDP. I can not thank them enough,” Shote said
