The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Igbo socio-cultural group, has rejected the option of having Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate of ruling All Progresssives Congress for 2023 elections.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Ohanaeze declared that the Senate President lacked the national acceptance and integrity to defeat PDP candidate.
The group’s Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, stated this yesterday in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday .
Isiguzoro therefore, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resist any move to make Lawan the party’s consensus candidate.
He also commended “the courageous stance of APC northern governors to reject the APC National Chairman’s choice for consensus.”
