The Nigeria Civil Service Union,Ogun State Chapter has lamented that most of its members could not access loans due to lack of fund
The union said the paucity of funds was caused by failure of Ogun State government to pay 23 months deduction of the workers in the state
The Secretary of NCSU, Comrade Taiwo Ogunoye who spoke exclusively with PLATFORM TIMES on Tuesday said members had queued to obtain loan since last year September, but could not due to insufficiency of funds
Ogunoye while lamenting said “To an extent we have tried and we are still trying and in the aspect of not satisfying our members, then it will be in the aspect of loans.
” You know how things are in Ogun State as I’m talking to you now, the state is owing deduction up to 23 months
Ogunoye added that the Union which is a platform where members are being able to access loans have been unable to give out loans since September
He said “This is a platform where our members are being able to access loans, so without government paying such, there is no way to access such and i think we have register for people who want to access loans and it has been out since September last year, we have been able to give some funds and some have not been given due to that reason”
He however praised the leadership of the Union in the state saying it has done well in terms of listening to their followers
He added that it has also been able to stabilize its members at the grassroots levels
