Nigerians have mocked the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore for criticising the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi over his trip
to Egypt.
PLATFORM TIMES observed that Obi had announced his departure from Nigeria to Egypt on Tuesday via his verified Twitter account.
He had twitted “I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria. In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors”.
However, Sowore, via his twitter handle criticized Obi over his 3 days visit to Egypt.
Sowore stated that the decision by Obi shows that the LP candidate is not prepared to rule the country.
“Heard @PeterObi traveled to Egypt to learn how to fix Education/Power problems, this is exactly the problem with unprepared candidates. It is nine months to election & a two-term gov. & former VP candidate wants to go learn something from Egypt in 3 days? Wow! #WeCantContinueLikeThis”
Meanwhile, Some Nigerians on twitter mocked sowore over his criticism, while also justifying Obi’s travel
One of the twitter users, Peter Obi Mobilization said “Unfortunately this had always been his campaign strategy, criticising other candidates without telling us your own plan, this is why I never supported him, I wasn’t convinced that he had concrete plan if elected as President other than activism. Nigeria is not a campus”
Also,NKEM #PeterObi 2023″ twitted “Sowore, face your campaign and leave Peter Obi alone. He is more prepared than you are or will ever be. You have no idea what governance is all about and still act like a student union president that’s why you are not taken seriously.
Zukwanuike sowore !!!!! Dem swear for you ???”
Daniel Regha added “Sowore u don’t have to de-market other aspirants to elevate urself; Knowledge is absolute power & Peter Obi travelling to Egypt doesn’t take away his credibility or make him less capable of ruling Nig. Mind u, his visit to Egypt is a strategic one to build friendly relations”
Karo Guzmo Jighere “I wish Sowore knew he wouldn’t have tweeted this thing,it clearly shows how unwise he can be.That someone is prepared doesn’t mean he shouldn’t update his knowledge, complacency is not a good virtue as a leader”
