Scores of prospective Corps Members from South West that were posted to Northern and South Eastern parts of the country have been reportedly Instructed by their parents to defer the National Youth Service Corps mobilization, PLATFORM TIMES reports .
PLATFORM TIMES reliably gathered that due to the high rate of Kidnapping, Bombings and Massacres in the northern and South Eastern parts of the country, prospective Corps Members usually went for deferment over deployment .
Mrs Soyemi whom ward was posted to Nasarawa with Batch A Stream 1 mobilization lists failed to allow her child embark on a Journey to the camp.
Also, Miss Damilola who claimed had deferred her NYSC posting twice because she was posted to the north and that she doesn’t seem to have interest in going for service anymore die to the issue of insecurity .
Another prospective Corps Member, Miss Ayinke also lamented how Finance would be at disadvantage for her in traveling down to the South South for her Camping exercise.
She said “early today, some prospective corps members were involved in an accident on their way to Delta state, some sustained injuries while others got burnt. All these things are scary”
Some parents who spoke with PLATFORM TIMES lamented that the situation in the country has forced them to stop their wards from resuming at their posts in the north.
