The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State governorship poll, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji is coasting to victory as he records an early lead in the governorship election conducted on Saturday.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered from the results of the exercise that had trickled in indicated that the APC was leading the Social Democratic Party and the People’s Democratic Party in various units across the 177 wards in the state.
The APC candidate is being trailed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Segun Oni, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Bisi Kolawole.
The three leading candidates in the poll won their respective wards with a wide margin.
Oyebanji won his polling unit 003, ward 6 Ikogosi with wide margin. He garnered 296 votes while Kolawole scored 01 vote with 03 voided.
Oni secured 90 per cent of the votes cast at his Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, located at Town Hall, Ogbon Iro, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ido-Osi Local Government.
He scored 218 out of 242 valid votes at the unit. His APC counterpart, Oyebanji got 15 votes, while PDP garnered two votes. One vote was voided, while the remaining seven was rejected; bringing the total number of accredited voters to 250.
Kolawole, candidate of the PDP won his polling unit, polling 98 votes out of 116 accredited voters.
The APC polled 13 votes, while SDP had two votes. The LP recorded one vote and two votes were voided.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Kayode Fayemi won his polling unit, unit 09, Ogilolo ward in Isan-Ekiti, Oye local government areas of the state for the ruling All Progressive Congress candidate, Biodun Oyebanji.
The APC garnered 154, while the SDP and PDP candidates scored 3 and 4 votes respectively.The ADP got one vote while 6 votes were voided.
In unit, 014 in L.A primary school, Ado-Ekiti, where the current Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi, APC defeated Oni’s SDP.
The APC polled 109 votes; the SDP had scored 86. The PDP came third with 14 votes.
The APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Mrs Mojisola Afuye, won her polling unit for the ruling party. Afuye voted at Atiba Aafin Ward 1, unit 003, in Ikere Ekiti.
Afuye polled a total of 165, to defeat SDP and PDP candidates, who polled 3 and 7 votes respectively. While the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Wole Oluyede, who is an indigene of Ikere Ekiti scored 27 votes.
The Senator representing the Ekiti South Senatorial District, Chief Biodun Olujimi lost at his ward 07, unit 07, Wesley United Primary School in Ekiti East council area of the state.
According to the Presiding Officer, the All Progressive Congress polled 141 votes while the People Democratic Party and Social Democratic Party garnered 110 and 46 votes respectively.
At unit 32, Ward 09, Olorunsogo Area, Ado-Ekiti, SDP scored 105 votes, while APC, PDP ADP, ADC, APP, YPP garnered 56, 13, 5, 1, 3 and 1 respectively.
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Funminiyi Afuye, won his unit 02, Ayetoro ward, Ikere-Ekiti for APC. According to the results declared by the Electoral Presiding Officer, APC scored 263 votes, PDP polled 50 votes and SDP garnered 17 votes.
The lawmaker representing Ekiti Central Constituency, Olusola Fatoba, delivered his unit for the APC.
The party polled 63 votes in Unit 016, Ward 8 in Alafia Eruguru, Ado-Ekiti. The SDP scored 49, while PDP recorded 20 votes. In Unit 20, near Fatoba’s unit also in Ward 8, the APC got 53 votes.The PDP and SDP polled 23 each.
In Unit 008, Ward 02, Ado Grammar School, the APC polled 171 votes. The SDP scored 133 and PDP, 40.
In Unit 031, Ward 13, APC polled 31 votes; the PDP got 16 votes, while SDP got 10.
APC scored 96 votes in Unit 003, Ward 4 in Ado Ijigbo. SDP scored 42 votes; PDP polled 23.
APC led with 58 votes in Unit 11, Ward 2 in Ado Idofin, where the PDP trailed with 51 votes and the SDP got 44.
In Unit 009, Ward 1 in Ado Idofin, the APC got 89 votes; the PDP polled 46 while the SDP scored 41.
APC garnered 97 votes in Unit 016, Ward 5 in Okeyinmi. The SDP got 36 votes; while the PDP polled 33.
In Unit 007, Ward 10 in Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, the APC scored 135 votes. The SDP got 59 votes, while the PDP scored 24.
