Two middle-aged men were caught involved in electoral fraud in Ede North Local Government of Osun State.
The men whose names could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report were among registered voters at ward 2, Unit 7 of Ede North, the local government of Mr Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Our reporter who observed the electioneering process in the area caught the two men while they were taking attendance of electorates who voted for their candidate.
Efforts to get the name of the governorship candidate supported by the two election offenders failed as they refused to disclose the identity of their political party.
While one of the election offenders was compiling names of people who would be paid, the other kept bundles of N500 notes in his pocket believed to be money that will be paid to people whose names were on the list.
In another development, an electorate at Unit 10, Ward 4 of Ede South Local Government was also sighted involved in another form of electoral fraud.
The electorate, a middle-aged man took picture of the ballot paper he voted on while he was still standing at the cubicle point.
The picture was believed to be a means of evidence for him to collect money from one one of the governorship candidates.
The election offender committed the act within a few seconds but his video was captured by our reporter.
Security agencies including the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) , Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) were stationed at strategic places within the pooling unit.
Despite the heavy security presence at the polling unit, the election offenders were transacting openly.
Electorates in the local government came out in their numbers to perform their civic duties.
The electorates are conducting themselves peacefully while they vote for their preferred candidates.
