The Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo State has dismissed a suit seeking to upturn the nomination of governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke.
A governorship aspirant of PDP in Osun State, Dotun Babayemi, had asked the appeal court to nullify the nomination of Mr Adeleke as the PDP candidate for the July 16 governorship election.
Factions of the PDP in the state produced two governorship candidates in its separate primarily elections.
While a faction produced governor-elect Adeleke, the other faction produced Mr Babayemi as its candidate.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized the faction that produced governor-elect, Adeleke after a High Court decision .
The High Court decision made the other faction that produced Mr Babayemi proceeded to the appealate court to seek justice.
The Court of Appeal in its Judgment on Wednesday upheld the verdict of the high court and consequently dismissed Mr Babayemi’s appeal.
