Two men have been reportedly arrested by the men of the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday for allegedly gang raping an 18 year old girl.
The men identified as Emmanuel Thompson and Joshua Godwin were reported to have conspired with two others to carry out the crime.
The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim at the Ogijo Divisional Headquarters.
She said that she boarded a commercial motorcycle at 8am on Tuesday from MRI Company to Ogijo bus stop but on the way to her destination, the rider who carried another commuter with her suddenly took change direction.
In her words, “I boarded an okada going to Ogijo Bus Stop from MRI Company and the okada rider carried another passenger with me. As we went further on the journey, the rider suddenly diverted to another route, while the other passenger started threatening to kill me if I didn’t cooperate with them”.
“I was forcefully taken to a room in one house in the area where two other men were waiting for them, on getting to the room, the two men, the okada rider and the male passenger took turns to have their way with me”, she narrated.
The DPO, CSP Onatufe Umoh detailed his detectives upon the report to the scene of the crime where two of the suspects were arrested while two other accomplices escaped.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
While the two arrested suspects have confessed to committing the offence, the State Commissioner has directed that the two escaped members be hunted for and brought to book.
