A baby factory in Agbado ,in the Ifo local government area of the state where a baby is sold for N400,000 has been uncovered .
Two suspects have been arrested by men of Ogun state police command .
The suspects, Christiana Iyama and Margaret Ogwu were reportedly arrested on August 27, 2022 for operating baby factory.
The suspects have reportedly sold three children and one for four hundred thousand naira to their clients.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed this in a statement on Monday .
Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested following an information received by police at Agbado divisional headquarters .
He said Iyama lives at No 4, Ibrahim Famuyiwa street, Agbado in the Ifo local government area of the state.
He said Iyama used to harbour young girls and hired men to impregnate them after which she will collect the baby on delivery and sell to her waiting buyers.
Oyeyemi said ” upon the information, the DPO Agbado division, SP Awoniyi Adekunle mobilised his detectives to the area where the said Christiana Iyama and Margaret Ogwu were arrested.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Margaret Ogwu was one of the girls harboured by Christiana Iyama who employed the service of a man to impregnate her and collected the child on delivery which she sold at the rate of N400,000(four hundred thousand naira) to one of her customers.
“She also confessed to the Police that, she has sold up to three children from different women to her different customers.”
The PPRO however said the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has ordered the transfer of the case to Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
