He added that the communities had been operating their businesses through generators which can only be run with fuel which is an expensive and scarce commodity.
Also speaking at the handing over of the power transformer, the Government Liaison Officer, Remo North Council, Abiola Ogundeko, described the government intervention as a very crucial one as lives and businesses have been saved consequentially.

Mrs. Ife Akinsola, a frozen food dealer in the community had lamented the deplorable state of her business as she had had to spend extra on investments by buying iced blocks and fuel to power her generator, in order to keep her business running.
“I buy frozen fish, chicken and turkey in small quantities and preserve them in a cooler. There are times when some of the products would become bad due to lack of adequate power, which often resulted in great loss for me. I want to sincerely thank the governor for coming to our aid,” she stated.
Also expressing excitement was a resident who also thanked the governor for his kind heart, said several other businesses including welding, hairdressing, tailoring, to mention a few, had suffered a great deal in the area, adding that the installation of the transformer would bring the community out of darkness.
Similarly, resident Dorcas Fajobi, overwhelmed by joy and gratitude to the state governor, said that the government has put a halt to the long suffering of the people.
She said they had experienced unstable power supply for years as a result of the poor power supply of the transformer.
