The Governorship candidate of Action Alliance in Ogun state, Dr. Samuel Adeyemi has cautioned the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees and other civil servants in the State against being received by what he called 11th hour deluge of promises by the state governor , Dapo Abiodun
Adeyemi who described Abiodun as an outgoing governor warned the NULGE of the multitudes of promises given to them during his meeting with them in Ilaro and Abeokuta.
Abiodun would be contesting for his re election in 2019 after he was elected as the state governor in 2019 .
The AA governorship hopeful wondered why the NULGE should believe Abiodun recalling that , the same promises were given prior to the 2019 elections , but were not fulfilled .
According to Adeyemi it is a ploy to take NULGE and civil servants for a ride for the second time with less than eight months left in the saddle, once beaten twice shy.
While sharing his programmes for the state, deyemi promised to bring a refreshingly different perspective to the governance in the Gateway State .
He pledged not to toy with the welfare and sensibility of the State workforce and Pensioners at the expense of any White elephant project like the Olokola free trade zone in which has not yield any tangible result over the years.
Adeyemi wondered where the governor who was complaining of paucity of funds will suddenly get enough money to implement his gargantuan promises.
He said “the roads are in very bad shape across the State and one begins to wonder the evidence of the concentration that the governor said he placed on road projects!”
He however declared that when elected into office, he will ensure total autonomy for the Local governments in Ogun State
He also said that he would ensure parity between the Local governments cadres with that of the Civil service.
Others according to him are ” Specific and strategic employment into the LG and Civil service
“Agree with the Civil Servants on specific timelines to clear arrears of leave bonuses, unremitted deductions and look into areas of delayed promotions and witch hunting in the Civil service.
“Discuss with the Pensioners on the prompt payment of their entitlements and also look into the cases of those who were denied appointment as Permanent Secretaries before their retirement inspite of being eminently qualified.
” Transportation of workers to and from work will receive serious attention of the government if Action Alliance in Ogun State.”
Adeyemi reiterated that Action Alliance is a Masses oriented party emphasizing that it is time the Masses and the Civil Servants come together to ensure the enthronement of a populist government in Ogun State in order to guarantee their future and those of generation yet unborn.
