The Coalition of Civil Societies (Pro-democracy and Human Rights) in Ogun State has raised alarm over attempt by impostor to hijack its leadership.
The Coalition alerted the State government and members of the public to be wary, alleging that the sinister act was politically motivated.
The State chairman of the coalition, Olayinka Folarin raised the alarm at a general meeting/state of the affairs discussion forum for leaders of civil society and non-government organisations held in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Folarin called on the law enforcement agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone laying claim to the leadership of the coalition other than the recognized executive members.
According to him, those behind the failed attempt to hijack the leadership of the coalition in the State were being sponsored to disrupt the peace of the State.
Folarin said, “We want to condemn the failed plots of some politically motivated characters who attempted to hijack the unified umbrella for all the Civil Society and Non Governmental organization’s in Ogun State.
“We commend the leadership of the coalition for not dignifying them with any reaction since their failed mission.
“However, inasmuch as we would not want to dignify these characters with any reaction, there need to alert the government, politicians and unsuspecting members of the public on the activities of these people”.
