A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State on Tuesday nullified the primary election that produced Isaq Akinlade as House of Rep candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in Ogun State.
Justice O.O Oguntoyinbo held that Akinlade never paid for an expression of interest form or was screened by APC within the time prescribed by the party in respect of National Assembly primary election.
Oguntoyinbo declared that the nomination of Akinlade by the APC is irregular, null and void.
The court therefore ordered a fresh primary within 40 days to select and nominate candidates for Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
