A former Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun Central at the National Assembly, Ibikunle Amosun has boasted that his party, the All Progressives Congress will not be threatened by rallies organised by Labour Party supporters.
Amosun stated that the people trusted the track record of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He added that the ‘Obidient’ movement was nothing to write home about, saying APC campaign will be from door-to-door.
The senator said this on Monday while responding to a question about the rallies across the country by supporters of the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during an interview on BBC Yoruba News, monitored by PLATFORM TIMES.
He said, “There is no need to be threatened by them, let all candidates do it their own ways.
“The youths championing the ‘Obidient’ movement with the believe that the older generations have failed them.
“If I also call out all APC supporters in Ogun State, the crowd will be massive.
“I think their strategy is just that they should organise rallies for people to know them. You know APC is not a new party to start canvassing for supporters; we are already well-known.
“That does not mean we are not strategising too, but it is not until we organise rallies across the country before we have massive supporters.
“We will start our campaign from door-to-door and I am sure that once we do this, since our supporters already trust us, even if they are being bribed by money, they will support who they already trust.”
Amosun further stated that the people would no longer fall for moneybag politicking in the forthcoming 2023 election.
“Everything is not about moneybags politics because once the people know that a candidate is capable and competent, they will campaign for him”, he said.
