An ex-convict, Anu Orija has been on the run after he reportedly raped a 12-year-old girl, Janet Fakeye to death at Fehintoluwa Community Development Association in Idiya, Abeokuta-North local government area of Ogun state
The deceased was a Junior Secondary School student at the Army Day Secondary School, Alamala, Abeokuta.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the suspect, who was recently released from prison, committed the offence .
PLATFORM TIMES also gathered that the suspect was no where to be found after incident.
PLATFORM TIMES further learnt that the ex-convict who was convicted for assaulting a Point of Service operator in the community last year, reportedly raped the minor shortly after he was released from prison, having served his jail term.
Janet was reportedly dragged into a house by the suspect while she was going back home from where she went to buy soap to wash her school uniform on Wednesday .
The suspect was said to have used his family house in the same community to commit the crime .
He was reported to have tied the hands, the legs and covered the mouth of the deceased before he allegedly raped her to death .
The suspect was reported to have dumped the dead body into another building beside his house and ran away.
PLATFORM TIMES however discovered that the suspect’s family house has been set ablaze and damaged completely by angry youths in the community.
The father of the deceased, Sanjo Fakeye narrated that the incident happened on Wednesday when his daughter went to buy detergent to wash her socks.
The father said, “When Janet arrived from school on Wednesday. She was writing her homework and after she was done, she told me she wanted to buy a detergent in our neighbour’s house to wash her socks.
“I gave her money to buy the detergent. As I gave her the money, I was sitting outside and after a while, I didn’t see her returned from the place she went to buy the detergent. The place where she went to buy the detergent is not far from the house.
“So, I went to check on her, I was told she had been attended to and had left the place , I became agitated .
“I then thought that may be she went to collect a book from her friend for her homework. I went to the friend’s place and asked for my daughter , she said she had not see her.
“I later went to report at the police station around 8 p.m after we had searched and could not find her . As we were heading towards the police station, I received a call from the community that they had found the dead body of my daughter.”
Also, the deseaced’s mother, Tayo Fakeye narrated that the suspect was seen briefly before the incident happened.
The 22-year-old mother said that many people heard the barking of a dog in the house while he was dumping her daughter’s body in the other building before he escaped.
According to her, the soap and the blood stains were seen in the suspect house while he ran away through the back door .
“After committing the act, some women saw him coming out of the building. But before the men could reach there, he had left after he had dumped the body of the girl inside the next house and a dog started backing.
“We want government to help us and arrest him. We saw blood stains on the floor. We also saw the detergent she went to buy. The policemen also saw it. Mercy is the culprit .
“The youths burnt the house because of the incident. The owner of the house, who is the father of the suspect, died just a month ago.
When contacted , the Police Public Relations Officer in he state, SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident .
He said his men have begun search for him .
Oyeyemi said the suspect was just released from the prison after she was sentenced for a crime he commited in the community .
The PPRO said, the police have launched a ma hunt on him over the crime .
He said, “It is true that we are looking for him. The suspect is an ex-convict who was just released from the prison .
” He would soon be arrested and made to face justice.
